Kirk is working on a completely new look for the CRMRA web page. It will still be at the same address ( www.ColumbiaRiverMud.org), it will just look way cooler. You can check out the progress by going to www.ColumbiaRiverMud.org/dev/ Be aware that not all the links are functional or that they may take you to some pretty random locations. Be sure to post any feedback here, or send an email to ColumbiaRiverMud@gmail.com

Update: The main page is pretty close to being done, I just need to do some cleanup on the images. I've actually conscripted Reese from FlashBackPhoto to help me out on that part.
I have a color scheme that I'll be using, and I confess I'm using the general layout from an existing page for inspiration. Hopefully I'll get the basic form squared away and be able to focus more on content than design pretty soon.
The next piece I'm working on is the 2010 Schedule. Hopefully I'll come up with a better look and feel than the simple list I had on the old page, but we'll see.
Also note that I hope to put up a section giving info on racers and race rigs. Perhaps some pictures and specs, even a blurb or short background from each racer too. We'll see.

Update: The 2010 Schedule page is now ready. I like the format and think it will work well for adding new events as we hear about them The 2009 Race Results page is also nearly done. I still need to apply the background formatting, hopefully this week. The remaining pages have placeholders with a brief description.

Update: New base color scheme showing up on the 2010 Schedule page. It is based on oranges and reds found in the artwork of Chris Marshall and it looks pretty slick. Look for the other pages to be updated with this scheme soon.

The new color scheme is in place on all pages. The calendar for 2010 is up. The 2009 calendar is also there, mostly because it only took five minutes to port the code from the other page. The Race Results for 2009 are converted and the 2010 page is ready for the first race. The Points Standings for 2009 are converted and the 2010 page is ready for the first race.
Next up: Rules. I'd like to put up the full text of the official rule book, but until I can get my hands on said rule book I'm a little stuck. I'll work instead on the form/layout.
Also remaining: driver/vehicle profiles.
Obstacle: Each individual page has its own copy of the ~85 lines of code that create the header and menu. If I make a change anywhere in those 85 lines I need to remember to make the change in the other 10 page codes as well. I'd like to have the menu be its own file that gets dynamically added when the page loads, but am having trouble making it happen.
Input: Anyone that thinks we need different/additional information on the web page, let me know. I still have some sections from the old page to add in, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some things too. This includes different ways to organize the menus.

Update: Got around the issue of the menu code being duplicated across 10+ files by finding an Ajax script that does exactly what I want to do. I was also able to make long-term maintenance easier by dynamically adjusting the location of some elements on the page. Now, if the size/shape of the header menu changes, the rest of the page will change with it. Hooray! ;D

Update: Added our primary sponsors of Ahern Rentals and Pape Machinery to the main page. Also made slight adjustments to the menu to put our sponsor links there as well. If any of you have sponsor information please let me know so I can get it up there.

The new CRMRA web page is up and live! Be sure to take a look and let me know anything you find to be incorrect, provide any feedback, give any suggestions. I still have some content to fill out and not all the info from the old page has a home yet, but the primary info is present. Also, the old page is still fully functional (well, as functional as it was anyway) at www.ColumbiaRiverMud.org/old

Just realized that I had not included a link to the 2010 Tech Sheet. I've added it in the Rules menu.
